ACCA Foundations

ACCA FOUNDATIONS IN ACCOUNTANCY is designed to provide students with a good start off to the ACCA qualifications. If you don’t currently meet the entry requirements for the ACCA qualification or you don’t have any knowledge of accountancy and will like to have a solid base, it will be advisable to start with the foundations qualifications.

There are four foundation awards:

*ACCA Diploma in Financial and Management Accounting (RQF Level 2)

This sets out an introduction to the world of accounting

  • FA1 - Recording Financial Transactions
  • MA1 - Management Information

*ACCA Diploma in Financial and Management Accounting (RQF Level 3)

This sets out a good background into costs and recording such costs

  • FA2 - Maintaining Financial Records
  • MA2 - Managing Costs and Finance

ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business (RQF Level 4)

This sets out a wider introduction to the world of finance and accounting and offers a broad understanding of essential accounting techniques. Upon completion of this qualification and the Foundations in Professionalism, you will be able to move unto the Applied Skills ACCA qualifications, getting exemptions from the ACCA Applied Knowledge exams.

  • FAB - Accountant in Business
  • FMA - Management Accounting
  • FFA - Financial Accounting

*Certified Accounting Technician

This qualification involves completing the following:

  • One year’s relevant practical experience in an accounting role
  • Foundations in Professionalism
  • ACCA Diploma in Financial and Management Accounting (RQF Level 2)
  • ACCA Diploma in Financial and Management Accounting (RQF Level 3)
  • ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business (RQF Level 4)

Any two of the following specialist exams:

  • FTX - Foundations in Taxation
  • FFM - Foundations in Financial Management
  • FAU - Foundations in Audit

FOUNDATIONS IN PROFESSIONALISM

'Foundations in Professionalism' is an online, interactive ethics module which needs to be completed before you can receive certificates for the foundation and technician qualifications you may have completed. This module can be completed while doing any of the exams, before taking the exams or after taking the exams and it only needs to be completed once for all foundation qualifications.
