Distance Learning

We have the distance learning option across each level of the AAT qualification and other accounting training sessions we deliver. This is a great way to study while staying committed to home, work and social routines. We stream our classes online via video content, so if you have a computer or a smart phone, you can be a part of the class from the comfort of your home. We also have recorded teachings across all training content, which you can log into at a convenient time and complete the course program.

With our distance learning you will also benefit from our work placement programme because we value practical learning!

Please note we advise at least 5-10 hours of study per week, so that you can progress through and cover the entire course content.

Work Experience

As part of our support to individuals who attend any of our trainings, we offer the Accounting Work Placement, providing practical accounting work experience in London to help consolidate what you have learnt from the course.

During the accounting work placement, you will take the role of an accounts assistant and you will be shadowing a chartered certified accountant and working on live client accounts. You will have the opportunity to practically apply the knowledge acquired from our training sessions into a real work environment. You will be involved in accountancy duties including, but not limited to:-

  • Setting up and updating cash flow reports
  • Managing and maintaining nominal codes and coding systems
  • Updating and reconciling nominal ledgers activities and transactions
  • Maintaining and updating the Sales and Purchase ledgers
  • Dealing with bank postings and bank reconciliations
  • Adjustments, Journals, Reconciliations and Year-end processes
  • Setting up and dealing with different reports
  • Preparation of Profit & Loss Accounts, Trial Balance and Balance Sheet

The work placement is vital for accounting students who lack practical work experience. The work placement is usually one day a week and you will be required to go to the accounting firm to carry out work tasks.

For each complete AAT level you study with us through distance learning, you will be entitled to 3 months work placement.

Please also note that the work experience program is not compulsory, it is an additional after training support that any of our students can take advantage of.
