This course will give you an exposure to British values, Safeguarding, Prevent and Online safety and steps to ensure you maintain a conscious awareness of your safety and that of others around you.
British Values define what it is to be a citizen or resident in the UK, regardless of race, religion, or country of birth.
The 4 British Values are:
Safeguarding focuses on promoting a safe working environment and a culture of care in which the rights of all children and adults at risk are protected and respected.
Keeping children and adults safe is everyone’s responsibility. We can all play a part in keeping children and adults safe, whether this is happening to us or someone else.
The Prevent Strategy seeks to stop people from becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism. The strategy seeks to respond to the ideological challenge of terrorism and aspects of extremism and the threat we face from those who promote these views.
Prevent is about safeguarding learners from radicalisation and extremism by taking measures to prevent extremism in work-based learning, and promoting British Values.
Channel provides support across the country to those who may be vulnerable to being drawn into terrorism. The aim is early intervention and diverting people away from the risk they may face.
Channel uses existing collaboration between a wide range of agencies and local partners working together to support individuals and protect them from being drawn into terrorism. Coordinators are usually police officers with the multi-agency panel being chaired by the Local Authority.
Channel works by partners jointly assessing the nature and the extent of the risk and where necessary, providing an appropriate support package tailored to the individual’s needs.
The world-wide availability of the internet has made it easier to connect with people, to bank, shop and carry out several activities. It becomes more and more important to ensure your safety online.
