Book-keeping and Accounts Qualification- City & Guilds qualification

This Bookkeeping and Accounts qualification is a City & Guilds accredited course which is suitable as an entry qualification to starting your career in Bookkeeping and Accounts. It offers you a good understanding of day-to-day bookkeeping activities and with this course you can apply for roles as an Accounts Clerk or Bookkeeper. This City & Guilds Bookkeeping and Accounts course comes in three levels.

Level 1 covers:

  • the completion of financial documents such as invoices and credit notes
  • the recording of cash and credit transactions in books of original entry
  • preparing bank reconciliations
  • understanding the petty cash imprest systems and trial balances.

This is a 4-day training session and costs 400 per person, 100 deposit is required to secure your booking. The next session commences on Tuesday, 29th January 2013 for 4 days, either 1 day/ week or 4-block days.

Level 2 covers:

  • preparing ledger accounts and control accounts
  • correcting errors in business accounts such as identifying errors in ledger accounts
  • understanding capital and revenue expenditure
  • depreciation
  • end of year adjustments
  • trial balance.

This is a 7-day training session and costs 700 per person, 100 deposit is required to secure your booking. The next session commences on Tuesday, 19th February 2013.

Level 3 covers:

Prepare profit & loss accounts, balance sheet and period end adjustments for:
  • sole traders
  • partnerships
  • limited liability companies
  • not-for-profit organisations
  • manufacturing accounts.

This is a 14-day training session and costs 1,000 per person, 100 deposit is required to secure your booking. The next session commences on Tuesday, 29th January 2013.

For each of these qualifications, candidates will be required to complete one externally set and marked examination. This will consist of a number of practical tasks set and marked by City & Guilds Association. Assessments will be graded Pass or First Class Pass.

If you are considering doing this course, it is highly recommended to also do the Sage Line 50 Accounts course as well.

As you study for this Bookkeeping and Accounts qualification, there is a guaranteed opportunity for Accounting Work Placement within an Accounting firm, subject to receiving two references for each candidate. The length of your Accounting Work Placement depends on the level and combination of other trainings you attend.
